Meridian Maritime Training Centre is a newly established company complied with the high- quality specialists with more than 20 years of professional experience in maritime field. By living half of their lives in the sea, understanding the significant nature of shipping, founders were attracted with the idea to begin this highly important activity and train, educate and attract youngsters to go to sea. Moreover, founders were seeking to provide the seafarers with the qualified service and training that the individuals with such valuable profession deserve.

Legal Entity of Public Law-Teaching University-Batumi State Maritime Academy is the main maritime HEI in Georgia and its history began in 1920’s. It was the first HEI to implement Quality Management Standard ISO 9001. Right now ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is functioning in the Academy.

BSMA is a member of main maritime organizations and is working to establish partnership relations with leading universities in the world.

Currently BSMA has two faculties: Maritime Faculty and Business and Management Faculty. Also there are two centers function: Vocational Education Centre and Seafarers Training and Certification Centre.

All educational programs and short training courses are made according requirements of Georgian legislation, national educational standards, STCW convention and are compiled according to IMO recommended Model courses. Our programs have national and international recognition.

The Maritime Training Center Equator was founded in 2009; Since 2010, the center has been implementing a quality management system in accordance with international standard ISO 9001-2008 and has ISO and IQnet certificates; In 2014, the Maritime Training Center Equator Ltd acquired the status of a vocational education institution through authorization. The College is a professional maritime professional education institution; The College, in addition to vocational education programs in the field of maritime transport services, provides training and certification of active seafarers; JSC Equator Ltd is a member of the Association of Private Colleges of Georgia as Associate Member.
